Ealing Amnesty International Group

Ealing Overview

Overview of AI Ealing Group Activities

The Ealing Amnesty group is active in a number of areas. The number of campaigns we are able to get involved in and the direction they take is very much led by the interests of group members .

Amnesty started with letter writing and we continue this by setting aside about 15 – 20 minutes at every meeting to write letters in support of the urgent actions requested by the Head office.

During summer time, we usually have a stall at local fairs & fetes to raise money and awareness about Amnesty’s work .

We have also regularly visited local schools giving assembly talks, after schools lessons and even performing a drama play for primary schools. This work is most fulfilling and gives us a chance to make a valuable contribution to the citizenship curriculum now in place in schools.

As well as our monthly meetings we also to meet in smaller groups  to take part in campaigning activities. This has included protesting outside Shall garages in support of the campaign to get them to clean up their activities in the Niger delta, and a regular cafe get together to write appeal letters and send greetings cards in solidarity.

We would welcome you to join us at our meetings, and look forward to meeting you. And do please give Catherine a call on 07941 480466 if you would like further details or have any queries.
